Microsoft Xbox SmartGlass

 

CLIENT
SmartGlass is a mobile, second-screen native application, that increases user engagement and elevates the Xbox experience. The app was available for iOS, Android and Windows Mobile OS. I functioned as a Visual Designer II on a V-Team through the discovery, design and implementation phases.

BRIEF
We were charged with creating an in-app purchase flow design that encourages customer engagement and solves for downtime during the download process. Users wanted the ability to update their console with the content they wanted from anywhere. This work was prioritized as the request was generated from the customer community and aligned with a business profitability need.

OPPORTUNITY
I leveraged the Xbox visual design systems and on device prototypes to define and refine screens for the in-app purchase flow. I created screens that showcased contextually relevant UI to drive customers through a streamlined path from browsing content, to purchase of consumable and durable products. I optimized my designs for iOS, Android and Windows Mobile OS, aligning them to Interface Guidelines and Xbox brand authenticity.

RESULTS

We created an opportunity for storefront access from the user's mobile device. We provided a channel for customers to browse and purchase content from anywhere, load their console from anywhere, and have the content ready to play when they picked up their controller.
